About

Since 1906, Portland families have looked to the compassionate, professional teams at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home and Lincoln Memorial Park to honor their loved ones. Working together, the funeral home and cemetery allow you to plan a funeral, cremation, memorial service or burial. Our teams always respect the traditions, customs and desires of everyone we serve.

The funeral home and 430-acre cemetery are located on Mount Scott, with magnificent views of downtown Portland. We are 10 miles southeast of downtown and a 20-minute drive from the Portland International Airport.

A versatile Portland funeral home

The recently remodeled Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home offers bright and modern rooms for funeral, memorial and celebration of life services. The 15,000-square-foot funeral home includes a non-denominational chapel that can accommodate up to 150 guests, as well as more informal gathering spaces.

Truly personalized memorial services

Every life is unique. A celebration of life should be as well. Our funeral services are tailored to the individual. We ask questions, get inspiration and design services that are as special as the people they celebrate.

What does that mean exactly? It means that whether you are seeking a cremation, a traditional funeral or a modern celebration of life complete with live music and a send-off to remember, we'll manage every detail to perfection.

From bagpipes to seashells, convertibles to putters, we take the things that mattered to someone and bring them together to create a singular, heartfelt celebration.

History

Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home and Lincoln Memorial Park have been a part of the greater Portland community since 1906.

Cemetery grounds at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral HomeThe cemetery was originally founded as Mount Scott Park Cemetery, on the slopes of Mount Scott. The property’s first structure was a stone building that served as the administrative offices. It was recently used to film a short segment for the popular TV show "Grimm." In 1914, a crematory was built on the cemetery property. In 1926, the mausoleum was built, and the name of the cemetery officially changed to Lincoln Memorial Park.

In 1992, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home opened at Lincoln Memorial Park, adding vital convenience and simplicity when planning final arrangements.

Lincoln Memorial Park cemetery

Water feature at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral HomeLocated on Mount Scott, the 430-acre Lincoln Memorial Park is a pastoral place of century-old trees and rolling hills. On quiet days, you can catch glimpses of the deer and geese, many making their homes on the beautiful grounds. Annual blooming flowers scattered throughout the gardens create beautiful spots for reflection. The cemetery property also affords magnificent views of downtown Portland.

Committal services available

Three covered committal shelters allow families who want an outdoor experience to have that while remaining protected from the elements. Each shelter holds 30 guests. There is also a beautiful chapel located inside the cemetery's mausoleum that seats approximately 60 guests.

A range of burial options

Lincoln Memorial Park offers a range of interment options for in-ground burial, as well as mausoleums, columbaria, crypts, cremation niches and benches, private and semiprivate estates, and scattering gardens. The cemetery allows for flush-to-the-ground markers, upright granite monuments and estate monuments.

An indoor community mausoleum, in the center of the park, provides for climate-controlled entombment. The front doors of the building are made of bronze, and the terraces and corridors are lined with imported marble. Within the mausoleum are several ornate stained-glass windows, a beautiful fountain and a chapel.

The Colonnades, built in the 1950s, is our outdoor mausoleum. Updated in 2010, the beautiful complex offers sweeping views of the Pacific Northwest. Newly expanded Maplewood Cremation Garden includes columbaria, cremation benches and cremation niches. Dedicated to the Chinese and Vietnamese populations, Imperial Garden offers expansive views of the cemetery grounds.

WHV 2020 - Level 4We honor veterans

At Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Four Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, our staff is knowledgeable in the benefits available to veterans and their families. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran's memorial service hat truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home and Lincoln Memorial Park have been committed to veterans since our inception. Even before Willamette National Cemetery opened in 1951, we had burial sites for local veterans.

Veterans and public servants programs

Pavilion at Lincoln Memorial Park & Funeral Home The Homeless Veterans Burial Program was founded in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners, coroners, veterans advocates and veterans organizations on the belief that every veteran deserves a dignified and honorable burial. Through the program, homeless and indigent veterans who have no family to claim them are identified and provided with proper military burials.

The Public Servants Program recognizes the courage and selflessness of those who work to safeguard Portland. Through the program we offer dignified and honorable tributes—at no cost—for career and volunteer law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency services personnel who die in the line of duty. The program also offers counseling services to family members, as well as the opportunity to create an internet tribute as a loving memorial.

Community events

Our service to families extends long after the memorial service has concluded. Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home and Lincoln Memorial Park welcome all members of the community to events we host throughout the year.

In December, we host a night of friendship, music and sweet treats, because we recognize that the holidays can be an emotional time for families who have lost loved ones, no matter their religion, culture or beliefs. During this non-denominational event, we celebrate the lives of those lost during the year, light candles in their honor and gain a sense of peace from the healing power of community. Religious leaders from many doctrines join families for the evening, offering care and support.
